Henrietta obtained her LLB degree from Wits University in 2008 and her LLM degree (Environmental law) from UCT in 2010. She has completed the Practical Legal Training Course through UCT and having then completed her articles, was admitted in the High Court as an attorney in 2014.

While completing her LLM, Henrietta was employed at the African Centre for Water Research, a consultancy specialising in transboundary water resource management in Africa. She was involved in analysing the legal and institutional framework of states sharing transboundary water resources, as well as gaining experience in the field of environmental management from a national and international legal perspective.

After this, her interest in politics led her to Parliament, where she was exposed to the workings of government, and in particular the Department of Mineral Resources and its portfolio committee, before joining Standards & Legal in 2011.

Since joining our team Henrietta has obtained substantial environmental and occupational health and safety legal compliance auditing experience for large and listed companies operating in South Africa. Henrietta also plays a key role in interpreting the requirements of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) legal obligations for clients of Standards & Legal.
